Right Here, Right Now

Expressions of Poetry in Presence:

Reality

It flows in and flows out

Sometimes it’s certain

Sometimes full of doubt

We make plans and

God laughs in return

We plot the future

but watch that path burn

[Then we]

Look at the past

While memories fade

Think of what happened

Wish for those days

[And,]

Eventually, we settle

Right here where we stand

We see wisdom in the present

Take it by the hand

[Because]

Right here, right now

Is all that’s true

Right here, right now

Standing next to you

This present moment

Is all that is real

The past is spoken for

The future still sealed

What beauty lies

In looking around

At the sparkle and nuance

Of each sight and sound

Being present to *this* moment

Not before or up ahead

Not worrying about what’s next

Or looking back with dread

But deepening

Fully

Slowly

With meaning

Trusting this moment

With all of your being

[because]

Right here, right now

Is all that is true

Right here, right now

Standing next to you

And there’s so much pressure

To have a vision

Your 5 year or 10 year

Outlook provisions

But how much more

Is available to us

When our focus stays here

In each little crevice

Where love can blossom

Truly divine

Where wonder and awe

Feel so sublime

This is the root

and the stem

And the flower

The source of

everything.

Can you feel that power?

So take my hand

Stop asking questions

Let fear melt away

Trust in these lessons

[Because]

Right here, right now

Is all that is true

Right here, right now

Standing next to you
